Johnson launched the evaluation on Monday after the Financial Times and Sunday Times newspapers reported that Cameron contacted ministers on behalf of Greensill, together with sending textual content messages to finance minister Rishi Sunak and arranging a drink between banker Lex Greensill and Health Secretary Matt Hancock.

Greensill was introduced in to advise the federal government whereas Cameron was prime minister from 2010 to 2016. After leaving workplace, Cameron turned an adviser to Greensill’s now-insolvent firm.

On Sunday, Cameron stated in an announcement he didn’t break any codes of conduct or authorities guidelines and that in the end the result of the discussions on Greensill’s proposals on a mortgage weren’t taken up.
