The bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus (PSC) introduced Sunday that they may journey to the southern border Monday to witness the migrant disaster unfolding.
Reps. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) and Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) mentioned a delegation of the Problem Solvers Caucus will journey to the southern border for a two-day go to. The delegation will journey to Rep. Vicente Gonzalez’s (D-TX) district; Gonzalez can be a PSC member. The delegation hopes to debate potential bipartisan options to immigration and border safety; they may meet with federal, state, and native legislation enforcement in addition to many humanitarian teams.
The delegation to the southern border will notably embrace many swing district Democrats similar to Gottheimer and Rep. Conor Lamb (D-PA). The members embrace:
- Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA)
- Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ)
- Rep. Vicente Gonzalez (D-TX)
- Rep. Tom Suozzi (D-NY)
- Rep. Jimmy Panetta (D-CA)
- Rep. Young Kim (R-CA)
- Rep. Conor Lamb (D-PA)
- Rep. Ed Case (D-HI)
- Rep. Jim Costa (D-CA)
The bipartisan journey to the border follows as many House and Senate Republicans traveled to the southern border to see the border disaster unfolding fewer than 100 days into President Joe Biden’s administration.
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) led members of the House Judiciary Committee this week to the southern border. He told Breitbart News’s Ashley Oliver:
This is … not simply Jim Jordan speaking, not simply Republican members of the Judiciary Committee speaking. This is the Border Patrol brokers themselves, what they’re telling us. That’s what we’ve received to get performed, and now we have to speak about this and attempt to persuade our Democratic colleagues that is simply good frequent sense.
He added, “This is for the good of the country, and frankly, it’s for the good of these kids and these families who are making that treacherous trek up through Mexico to get here.”
