A Rebel With a Cause, The Battle of Tinhorn Flats

by akoloy

Friend of the Treehouse, Peter Duke, launched me to this story and it’s blood-boiling, but superior.

A younger man named Lucas Lepejian is in a battle with Burbank authorities who’re attempting to run him out of enterprise.  Lucas is the 20-year-old son of Baret Lepejian the proprietor of a long-standing western-themed restaurant referred to as Tinhorn Flats; a well-known place to dine in Burbank, California.

Local authorities have tried to close down Tinhorn Flats repeatedly.  Each time Lucas defies the orders and reopens.

Lucas has been arrested thrice in defiance of the ridiculous COVID shutdown.

The situation now could be private, the authorities are intent on destroying his enterprise… Lucas, and a small battalion of supporters, stay defiant.

TIMELINE & DETAILS: Tinhorn Flats is the oldest bar in Burbank.  In March of 2020 they shut down in compliance with state tips.   They reopened in November 2020, and when the second lockdown was introduced their defiance started.

Burbank authorities first cited and fined Tinhorn Flats.  Lucas refused to pay and stayed open.  Burbank authorities reduce their utilities.  Lucas introduced in mills and stayed open.   Burbank authorities Red tagged his restaurant and locked the doorways.  Lucas reduce the locks and reopened.  Burbank authorities boarded up the doorways and ‘red tagged’ once more as unsafe.  Lucas sawed off the boards and reopened his enterprise.  Burbank police then arrested Lucas.  Lucas made bail and was launched.

Regular protests then started to assist Lucas.  Burbank authorities got here again and changed the boards (thicker w/ safety nails).  Lucas sawed off these boards and reopened enterprise.  Burbank police then arrested Lucas the second time.  Lucas made bail and was launched.  Burbank authorities once more changed the boards on the doorways and added sand luggage; (police later introduced that anybody shifting a sandbag can be arrested).  Lucas eliminated the sandbags.  Lucas was arrested, made bail and was launched.

Today town of Burbank put in fences across the property…. the battle continues.

Lucas and Baret Lepejian are being represented by lawyer Mark Geragos [SEE HERE].

Diana West puts it well:

As anybody can see from the Tinhorn Flats’ Instagram page, the restaurant helps freedom, capitalism and President Trump, and reviles tyranny, socialism and Governor Newsom. No surprise they’re within the crosshairs — however no surprise they’re within the battle!

If you possibly can’t present up, you possibly can assist the Tinhorn Flats Legal Defense Fund here.”
