Moving asset from a overseas trade to European trade? [DEGIRO] : eupersonal…

by akoloy

I’m undecided if this makes any sense. Please hear me out and thanks upfront!

So, just a few years again, once I was new on investing, I needed to take a position on Xiaomi proper after IPO. It was again then solely accessible in Hong Kong inventory trade. And oh, the worth dropped like loopy. It ought to have been the time to take a position some extra, however I did not. I even stopped it after some level.

Now it goes again up and at last I need to add some extra to my portfolio, and realised that in Degiro it is also listed in European exchanges like Frankfurt, the place the buying and selling worth will probably be in EUR and never HKD.

So I’m wondering what would make most sense at this level? I’m contemplating:
1. Move the preliminary funding to one of many European trade. I do not even know if that is doable or not.
2. Leave the preliminary funding as it’s (to keep away from coping with tax for now), and simply purchase the brand new bits in European trade.
3. Just hold including cash to the identical pool, within the Hong Kong inventory trade.

I’m wondering what can be probably the most smart possibility, contemplating minimising loss. Or is there something I neglected? Thanks!
