TikTok has agreed to settle a lawsuit over capturing biometric and personal knowledge from customers within the US. Several regulation companies reached a settlement with the social media app on Thursday, with TikTok agreeing to pay $92 million. The settlement nonetheless must be accredited by a courtroom.

The lawsuit additionally claims TikTok handed that non-public person knowledge on to 3rd events. The settlement would require the corporate to “initiate a new privacy compliance training program,” the regulation companies mentioned in a joint press launch. 

“While we disagree with the assertions, rather than go through lengthy litigation, we’d like to focus our efforts on building a safe and joyful experience for the TikTok community,” a TikTok spokesperson informed CNET in a press release.

The $92 million might be used to compensate TikTok customers.
