UP’s funds session opened on Thursday amid the Samajwadi Party’s dramatic road protests. Some of its MLAs arrived for the session on tractors carrying sugarcane in solidarity with the continuing farmers’ agitation and to protest in opposition to the state for not growing the procurement worth of sugarcane.
MLAs and senior leaders of SP and Congress staged a protest within the meeting complicated with placards and banners which criticised the federal government over law and order, rising fuel prices and unchanged sugarcane costs.
