FEMA Looks to Help Fight Domestic Terrorism

The Federal Emergency Management Agency will present extra assist in the battle towards home extremism.

The company plans to extend funding for state and cities to focus on the pursuit of home terrorists, CNN reported Thursday.

State and native officers have been knowledgeable of the funding throughout a briefing final week. It is designed to permit the company to double down on its efforts to battle home-grown fanatics, CNN stated.

It comes as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., stated Monday that Congress will set up a Sept. 11-style fee to evaluate the deadly insurrection that came about on the Capitol.

Pelosi stated the impartial fee will “examine and report on the info and causes regarding the Jan. 6, 2021, home terrorist assault upon the United States Capitol Complex … and regarding the interference with the peaceable switch of energy.”

A Department of Homeland Security official advised CNN: “January 6 was a wake-up call. The government is taking this extremely seriously.”

And a FEMA spokesperson added: “Since 2002, DHS has allocated more than $54 billion to states and territories to prevent and prepare for the threats that terrorist organizations pose. Almost 20 years later, the homeland security threat environment has evolved. As the threats evolve, so, too, must the grant programs intended to prepare communities for those threats.”
