Blinken Spoke to Iraqi Prime Minister After Rocket Attack

WASHINGTON—U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke to Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi on Tuesday, after a rocket assault on U.S.-led forces in northern Iraq on Monday killed a civilian contractor and injured a U.S. service member.

Responsibility for the assault was claimed by a little-known group that some Iraqi officers say has hyperlinks with Iran.

State Department Spokesperson Ned Price stated he didn’t wish to get forward of an investigation into who was chargeable for the assault, however that the United States reserved the precise to reply “at a time and place of our choosing.”
