Josh Warrington Treating Mauricio Lara Like a ‘Monster’ – Not Interested in Fighting Tin Cans

British featherweight, Josh Warrington, has reassured followers of his method to his comeback. The undefeated fighter takes on Mauricio Lara on Saturday, February 13, reside on DAZN. Ahead of his comeback, he has vowed to deal with Lara with respect.

This will probably be Warrington’s first combat in over a 12 months. Critics felt he took the Lara combat as a method of dusting off the cobwebs. However, ‘The Leeds Warrior’ has pressured that it’s not the case. Instead, he claimed a combat like that is higher than combating “Tin-Can” opposition.

Speaking on the press conference earlier than the combat, Warrington addressed the scenario. He mentioned, “I wouldn’t want it any other way. There’s no good me blowing out some tin can.” 

Warrington additionally dismissed the opposite potential opponent, Andoni Gago, saying he would beat him together with his left hand.

The Yorkshireman then heaped reward on his opponent. He admitted Lara has the higher energy and referenced his superior knockout charge. He mentioned this made the combat the proper preparation for the battles sooner or later.

‘The Leeds Warrior’ then added, “Make no mistake about it, I’m treating him like a monster. Because I can’t afford a banana skin, a slip up at this stage.” 

These feedback confirmed how assured he’s forward of his return.

Why did Josh Warrington face criticism for his selection of opponent?

Warrington was the IBF featherweight champion and had made three profitable defenses. However, he made the stunning determination to vacate and defined that it was to chase fights with the opposite champions like Gary Russell Jr and Xu Can.

However, the IBF title would have prevented this as he must face his necessary, which may have been towards Kid Galahad or the aforementioned Gago.

His determination to combat Lara raised eyebrows because the Mexican solely ranks eighth within the IBF rankings, decrease than Gago. Therefore, he needed to clarify his selection, and going by his feedback, it’s protected to say he charges Lara as a tougher combat than Gago.
